About
About zajtrk
Zajtrk is a singer-songwriter ethno-chanson ensemble with a humorous, socially critical, and mischievous approach to creating music. It consists of Laura Krajnc (violin, vocals, tambourine) and Sven Horvat (guitar, vocals), accompanied by Matija Solce (Accordion, vocals) Ana Lazar (violin, vocals) and Neža Pavlovič (double bass).
Zajtrk draws inspiration from fairy tales, myths, legends, funny anecdotes, theatre, and other wild whims, which are also reflected in their music. The ensemble strives to preserve the Slovenian language in its lyrics, maintain creative autonomy, cultivate good humor, and incorporate folk elements into their music. The song lyrics primarily reflect an interest in human beings and their comic, rebellious, confused, tragic, unhappy, and happy lives.
The group’s newer songs offer insight into the more existential and vulnerable nature of human beings, intertwined with the spirit of old myths and stories, with a fragile core and a pompous armor.
